Announcing the Fit Pro Relief Fund

It is with a heavy heart that we reach out to you at this unprecedented time. It is still hard to even understand the breadth of a crisis that has affected every single American so personally and completely. Prior to the sale of IDEA Health & Fitness Association over three years ago, we had proudly been carrying out a leadership role in the fitness industry for 35 years. We were shocked when, in March of this year, the onslaught of COVID-19 closed down virtually every club, studio, and fitness enterprise in the nation. The scale was staggering.

Fitness professionals are particularly harmed by this shutdown. And we want to help.

While we are not actively involved in IDEA anymore, our personal commitment to each of you led us to start a discussion about what we could do to help fitness professionals in this time of emergency. We feel that fitness professionals have long been unsung heroes in their communities, and we want you to know that we’re with you. To provide a small measure of assistance, we have created a private fund to help the fit pros who have been financially hurt due to this terrible situation.

We've teamed up with Inspire360 to create a $500,000 fund for individuals who have fallen the hardest during this crisis.

We know our Fit Pro Relief Fund can’t possibly reach everyone who deserves additional resources, but we know we can help some, and this is our goal. Specifically, this effort is for individuals who may be having a hard time meeting basic needs and feel they have no other place to turn. This fund is intended for fitness professionals who aren’t receiving other financial aid from the government and aren’t collecting unemployment.

If you feel you fit that description, please fill out the grant application and submit it today. Together with Inspire360, we will select the recipients based on the application criteria. Again, we’re sorry we can’t help everyone that deserves it, but we will endeavor to help the fitness professionals that have dire need, even if only in a small way.

We hold so much gratitude to you and for what the fitness professional community means to the health and well-being of the world at large. Thank you for all the incredible dedication and sacrifice you have made during your careers. We know you will keep inspiring your clients and members every day, especially when we get to the other side of this crisis.
